Privacy at a glance

We collect account, profile, usage, and payment-related data needed to run your store, deliver files, bill Pro subscriptions, secure accounts, and improve reliability. We do not sell personal data. Optional analytics and ads measurement run only if you accept cookies.

1. Introduction

Welcome to ownstreet ("we", "us", "our"). We operate ownstreet.in and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights.

By using ownstreet, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the platform.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Account and identity data

When you sign up, we collect your email address, name, and username. If you connect social accounts, we may receive basic profile information from those providers.

2.2 Profile & content data

Links, product listings, images, bio text, buyer emails from your sales, reviews, and any other content you upload to your ownstreet page or store.

2.3 Payment and billing data

We process payments through Razorpay (including creator payouts and Pro subscription billing). We do not store your card numbers or UPI credentials. Razorpay's privacy policy governs payment credential handling.

2.4 Usage data

Page views, click events, device type, browser, and approximate location (country/city level) for analytics and reliability.

2.5 Cookies and local storage

We use essential cookies for login and security. Optional analytics and ads measurement cookies (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, and Meta) run only if you accept them in our cookie banner. Your Accept or Deny choice is stored in this browser only (not in your ownstreet account). You can block non-essential cookies in your browser, or use the button below to see the banner again.

Reloads this page and shows the Accept / Deny banner again.

2.6 Support communications

If you contact support or submit an in-app report, we store messages and related details needed to resolve your issue.

2.7 Artificial intelligence (AI)

We do not sell your personal data to train public AI models, and we do not upload your private product files to third-party generative AI APIs for automated selling decisions. On-site help answers come from our own FAQ content. We may use AI drafting tools for our own marketing or documentation. If we add features that send your account content to a third-party AI provider, we will update this policy before enabling them.

2.8 Buyer checkout and newsletters

At checkout we collect your name, email, and optional phone to take payment, send the file, and show the seller the order. That checkout email is not a newsletter signup. If you join a creator’s email list on their page, they can email you about their products until you unsubscribe. Demand-board emails are used to post your request and for sellers to reply.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide and maintain the ownstreet service
  • To process payments, deliver digital products, and send transaction emails
  • To send product updates, security notices, billing reminders, and support messages
  • To analyse usage patterns and improve the platform (with cookie consent where required)
  • To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and policy violations
  • To measure marketing performance when you accept optional cookies
  • To comply with applicable Indian laws and regulations

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Data Sharing and Processors

We share data with service providers who help us run ownstreet. They process data on our instructions and are expected to protect it:

  • Razorpay — payment processing, payouts, and Pro subscription billing
  • Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage
  • Vercel — website hosting and application infrastructure
  • Resend — transactional and notification email delivery
  • Upstash — rate limiting and abuse protection
  • Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, and Meta — optional analytics and ads measurement, only if you accept non-essential cookies
  • Creator Meta Pixel (Pro Max stores) — if a creator connects their own Meta Pixel ID, PageView and Purchase events on that creator's store may be sent to Meta when you accept cookies. That Pixel is controlled by the creator, not by ownstreet.
  • Law enforcement — when required by Indian law

Each provider has its own privacy policy for how they process data as a processor or independent controller where applicable.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g. financial records for 7 years under Indian tax law). Product files and related storage objects tied to your account are removed as part of account deletion.

6. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your account and data
  • Ask for a copy of your account data
  • Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time
  • Deny or later clear optional analytics cookies via your browser / local preference

Creators can download a JSON copy of their account data in Dashboard → Settings (“Download my data”), and can delete their account in the same Settings page. For access, correction, a data copy by email, or a buyer privacy request, email ownstreet.in@gmail.com with the subject line “Privacy request”. Include the email on the account (or the buyer email used at checkout) so we can find the right records.

We aim to reply within a few working days and to complete valid requests within 90 days. Some records (for example completed payment history) may be kept where Indian tax or payment law requires it. See also Contact.

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard security practices including HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords, and access controls. Product download files are stored in private storage and served with access controls. However, no system is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International Data Transfers

Some infrastructure providers may process data in multiple regions. We use trusted processors and safeguards suitable for secure service delivery.

9. Children's Privacy

ownstreet is for people 18 years or older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. We do not run an age-check at signup. If you believe a child has an account or a child’s data is on ownstreet, email ownstreet.in@gmail.com with the subject “Privacy request”. We will delete that personal data except where Indian tax or payment rules require a record to be kept.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. We will notify you via email or an in-app notice at least 7 days before material changes take effect.

11. Contact and privacy grievances

ownstreet is operated from Bangalore, India. For questions about this policy, or to raise a privacy grievance, email ownstreet.in@gmail.com.

Privacy grievance contact: Lakshath, Founder, ownstreet. Same inbox as support. Put “Privacy request” in the subject so it is handled as a data request, not a general help ticket.

We aim to acknowledge privacy emails within a few working days (Mon–Sat, IST) and to close valid requests within 90 days. If you are not satisfied after that, you may also write to us again at the same address. The Data Protection Board of India is the statutory authority under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act.
