Is ownstreet Legit? Honest Check (2026)

If you are about to put your first PDF or template on a new platform, "is this a scam?" is a fair question. I would ask it too. This post is the straight answer for ownstreet as of 12 Oct 2026. It uses what we publish on About, Pricing, Terms, Privacy, and Contact. It does not invent a company size we do not have.

Is ownstreet a scam?

No. A scam usually hides who runs the product, hides how money moves, or disappears when you ask for a receipt. ownstreet does the opposite on purpose. The founder page names me. Payments go through Razorpay, not a personal UPI QR in a DM. Terms, privacy, and billing rules are linked in the site footer. Support is a public Contact page, not a dead Instagram inbox.

That still does not make us a giant company. We say the early stage out loud on About: Udyam registration is done. Private limited company registration is planned. GST registration is planned. If someone only trusts a long-established Pvt Ltd with GSTIN already on every invoice, ownstreet may feel too new for them. That is a preference, not proof of fraud.

Who created ownstreet?

I did. My name is Lakshath. I am a BCom graduate in India, and I am the founder of ownstreet. The About page lists the background I am happy to own in public: footballer, video editor, UI/UX designer, YouTuber, blogger, digital marketer, founder, and digital marketing instructor. I built ownstreet so Indian creators can sell digital files with UPI on their own page, without an ownstreet cut on the sale.

Is ownstreet an Indian company?

ownstreet is built in India for Indian creators. On About we state: registered in India under Udyam. We also state what is not done yet: not a private limited company yet, and GST is not registered yet. Both are planned as volume grows. We will not describe ownstreet as a large registered company before that is true.

Can I trust ownstreet with my payments?

Buyer checkout runs through Razorpay. That is on About, Pricing, and Terms. You are not asked to send sale money to a personal PhonePe number and hope someone emails a file. Is ownstreet really free? Any hidden platform cut?

Free is real, with limits. Free lets you launch a bio link and one live paid product. Pro is ₹299/month when you need unlimited live products, email capture, reviews, and growth tools. Pro Max is ₹799/month for custom domain, multi-product cart, coupons, GST shop tools, team seats, and related Pro Max features listed on Pricing. ownstreet still takes 0% platform fee on product sales on every plan.

What do users say?

We publish creator stories only with consent. The page is Creator stories. Those are opt-in quotes and context notes, not a fake revenue dashboard. If a story mentions settlement timing in the creator's own words, we keep the quote and still point to our published bank timing of typically 2–3 working days.

We also show a public GMV floor on marketing pages: ₹6,50,000+ from completed sales on ownstreet. That is an early number on purpose. We would rather print a small real floor than invent a crore headline.

What happens if ownstreet shuts down?

No honest founder can promise a product will run forever. Here is what we will not do: invent an escrow story or claim your files live in a vault we cannot prove. You should keep local copies of every file you sell. Buyer emails you collect on Pro are yours to export from the tools we ship. Terms say you retain ownership of content you publish.

FAQ

Is ownstreet legit?

Yes, as a real product with a named founder, Razorpay checkout, published policies, and an India Udyam registration. It is still early on private limited company and GST registration. Judge that openly, not from rumor.

Is ownstreet safe to use for selling digital products?

For the payment rail, checkout is Razorpay. For the store, you get a success page and email delivery path after a verified pay. Safety still means you upload only files you have rights to, and you keep your own backups.

Who can I email if something goes wrong?

Use Contact or ownstreet.in@gmail.com (published in Terms). We aim to reply within 24 hours, Mon–Sat, IST.

Does ownstreet keep my sale money?

Buyer payments are processed by Razorpay. Depending on your setup, settlement goes through bank payouts on ownstreet or through your own Razorpay account. ownstreet does not add a platform commission on the product sale. Gateway and any Route transfer fees still follow Razorpay.
